Easy Quilting

Hello everyone,
Have you ever thought about making a quilt, but have no idea where to begin?  My dear friend Linda from high school asked me if I would teach her how to make a quilt. I was so excited and I wanted to make it FUN and easy for her.  I thought what would be the easiest quilt to make for someone that’s not as experienced in sewing.  Then I remembered my very first quilt I made in 1978 (in high school). I made it out of 5 inch squares, which was very easy, just sewing them together.  Now, you know me, Material Girl – I have all kinds of material, and in all sizes. So, I went into my stash of material and cut twelve 8 inch squares and thought we can use them - PERFECT!

Linda came over, we had lunch, and then got right into quilting… I had her cutting sewing and ironing.  OMG, what fun we had – It was like the old high school days again…  We talked about everything and before we knew it, the time had flown by. We did manage to finish quilting the quilt… But, we still need to put the binding on.  We’ll get together sometime this week to finish it.

Take a look at the pictures – She did an amazing job!!!

Block of the Month - Perky Pastels

Hi everyone
I am working on my 4th block for the perky pastels (BOM) class.  I did the 1st one with a blue border and I didn’t really like it. So I ripped it out.  I do this a lot when I am not happy with how it looks. I rip it out and start all over again. I put a pretty pink border around it and I think it looks so much better…  Don’t you agree?...

Here is what it looked like with the blue...

Here is what it looks like now...

Here are all three - working on the 4th one - which will
be blue & white flying geese.

Embroidery

Hi everyone,

I have decided to take on another type of sewing… embroidery.
I am going to take a two full day Anita Goodesign class to learn how
to embroider and bring these into my quilts for a little different look.
I will share my creations with you. :-)

Here is what the Anita Goodesigns look like...

You can also add these designs to clothes or tablecloths

Can't wait for class- starts May 6th & 7th
