The 1930's Quilt

Hello Friends,

This past weekend I went to a quilt show in New London with a couple of the quilt club girls and came across a VERY old find. Quilt squares from the 1930's and a Civil War label.  Some of the blocks are tattered and stained, but I will do my best to bring them back to life and turn them into a  beautiful quilt. These antique quilt squares were made with small scraps of unique fabric from the depression era.  What I plan to do is find some 1930's reproduction fabric to turn these squares into the quilt it should have been years ago!

There was one 1930's Dresden among my finds...

I can't wait to get started on this beauty.

Flower Garden Memory Quilt

Hello friends,

I hope your summer is going well.  Can you believe that July is over? Summer is going extremely fast and I feel like I haven't done much at all. Actually, I know I haven’t done much… Partly because the weather has been awful this summer.  The heat is unbearable and the extreme amounts of rainfall has put a damper on everything.  I am hoping that August brings back sunny days and I can get back into quilting!

Today, I am happy to share a little progress on a memory quilt I've been working on…
I have all the birds, hearts and flowers all sewn on and another border around the orange...  This is turning out real nice.   - Love the colors it really makes it pop!
