Christmas is right around the corner and I need to finish a couple of quilting  projects. It wouldn’t be so bad if I had time on the weekends, but there seems to be something going on every weekend. I think I may have to take a "me day" off to get them done.

Here are a few quilt hanging I did for my BFF's :-)

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello!  Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving  :-)

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It's when
family and friends gather round and enjoy a nice
turkey dinner with all the fixing.

I would like to share a few projects I've been working on...
below are a couple of quilt blocks that I have done for
two blocks of the month classes I am taking...

Love the colors on this one.

Below is going to be a very special
eye -spy quilt for a very special little boy...
 Can't wait to get started!!

I have a few more but can't share
just yet... They are Christmas gifts -
don't want to spoil the surprise!

Season

I do love seasons! The change comes whether we are ready or not... So why not embrace it and run with it!

Wow, can you believe it... We are six weeks away from Thanksgiving.
I do love this time of year!  It's time to get cozy and start getting some quilting done.  I can hardly wait... it's a busy productive time of year. I seem to get more quilting done when it's too cold outside to do anything else.   I am hoping to have my prostitcher back any day now, so I can get some machine quilting done... It's been way too long and I really would love to get some of my projects done.

Then there is Christmas right around the corner.  I've been pulling out some of my Christmas fabrics that I want to start working on.

 Have a Happy Halloween!

Pro-Stitcher & Free Motion

Hello friends,

Summer is coming to an end and I still don’t have my pro-stitcher working – UGH. Hopefully it will be fixed soon – fingers and toes crossed!  I really  don’t like free motion quilting because I am not that good at it…  That was the whole purpose of getting the pro-stitcher, so I didn’t have to do free motion quilting.  I must say, I am getting better at it :-)

Well it hasn't stopped me from quilting anyway...

Here are a few quilts/project I've been working on…

This one below is very special - I made this for one of the ladies at work.
Her dad had just passed away, and today was the funeral service - I asked for a few of her dad's shirts and she gave me his/her mom's favorite ones.  I also added a couple of pictures and did a little applique.

This is a quilted memory wall hanging.

This is my September - BOM (block of month)

This is a baby quilt that I am still working on...

Here is another quilt I made for a
friend of mine - This one I did the free motion quilting on...
Came out pretty darn good!

Hello Friends,

I really can't believe it is the end of August already... You know what that means…  It’s time to start thinking about those holidays, they’ll be here before we know it.  The girls and I will be taken a trip to Main to get some of those great fabric deals at Sanford Marden’s.  They have a lot of new seasonal cotton prints from Halloween to Fall Harvest as well as some new Christmas fabric.

I had taken most of the summer off and now I’m ready to get back into quilting and blogging.  The only problem, my Pro-stitcher is in the shop getting a little tune-up… hope to have it soon :-)

Looking forward to the cooler weather  ⛄ This summer was a hot one!

The Quilter Girls Club

Hi quilter friends,

I am now in a new club… “The Quilter Girls Club” and every month we all get together for dinner and we chat about what we are working on and what’s going on with our family, friends or whatever.  We really have a nice time together.  This month there was 12 of us ladies and we went to the Citrus restaurant in Milford.  We had our own private room so we were able to talk to each other comfortable, without talking over others.

We celebrate birthdays and I was surprised when they announced me because I didn’t know they even knew when mine was… It was also another women’s birthday too.  We both got very cute pot holders with a 'sexy dame' motif and our name embroidered on the front. These really are too cute to use!!

We also do a raffle every month and whoever wins the raffle, then that person has to buy the gift for the next month.  It really is a lot of fun!

OK, so here are two small quilts that I have been working on - These
were made with a blue and white flowered jellyroll. I added the embroidered teacups and teapots on white fabric with blue thread. I did two different nine patch patterns...

Crazy Busy Weekends

Hello Friends,

It has been crazy-busy here and with the warmer weather I can’t seem to get any quilting done or started. I have a couple of quilts that need quilting and a lot to get started on. As I’m sure most of you do too.

There is always something happening on the weekends, meeting old high school girlfriends, which I truly enjoy & love!!! Then the quilt club girl’s night out, not to mention the morning market fair the weekend before.  There is always something going on every weekend. But, I did manage to get my BOM done just in time for class this weekend… Yay

These are called perky pastels.

Where did the month of May go?...

Hello Friends,

I really haven’t been working on a lot of anything lately… My daughter and son-in-law were here visiting from Florida for most of the month.  I spent a lot of time with them. We did go to a couple orchards, Bishops' and Jones', did some wine tasting, which was fun.  We also had lunch at Tea with Tracy’s in Seymour and that was nice too.  What an assortment of teas – a huge variety for all you tea lovers!

OK – Well, I just started working on these
two baby panels over Memorial Day weekend.

This is a blue & white jelly roll I started
to piece together. I love the
blues with the white.

I was trying out my new software
on the Destiny - this is the radial designs - love it!
Isn't it cute?... You can add any
design in the center.

Embroidery Class

Hello Friends,

I took the two day Anita Goodesign embroidery class last weekend. This was my first embroidery class. Although, I do know how to embroider a little by hand and by machine, it’s always fun to make new friends and learn different techniques…  Not to mention, shopping and getting the new software that’s on the market.

Well, I did get the new software and traded in my old husqvarna viking topaz 20 for the New Baby Lock Destiny - OMG - this machine is amazing! I love it!  I will be doing a lot of quilting and embroidering.

Let me show you a couple of blocks we did from class...

Here is the Destiny at it's best...
The block below is the same one in the machine - (my new Destiny)
This is a confetti pinwheel - we put thread, tiny playing cards and cut-up material on it and then we sewn the netting over the top. Pretty cool :-)

Here are three projects we did...

Easy Quilting

Hello everyone,
Have you ever thought about making a quilt, but have no idea where to begin?  My dear friend Linda from high school asked me if I would teach her how to make a quilt. I was so excited and I wanted to make it FUN and easy for her.  I thought what would be the easiest quilt to make for someone that’s not as experienced in sewing.  Then I remembered my very first quilt I made in 1978 (in high school). I made it out of 5 inch squares, which was very easy, just sewing them together.  Now, you know me, Material Girl – I have all kinds of material, and in all sizes. So, I went into my stash of material and cut twelve 8 inch squares and thought we can use them - PERFECT!

Linda came over, we had lunch, and then got right into quilting… I had her cutting sewing and ironing.  OMG, what fun we had – It was like the old high school days again…  We talked about everything and before we knew it, the time had flown by. We did manage to finish quilting the quilt… But, we still need to put the binding on.  We’ll get together sometime this week to finish it.

Take a look at the pictures – She did an amazing job!!!

Here is the label I made to put on the back...
