Happy Thanksgiving to All

Hello Friends,

Mmmm, it’s almost that time of year again...Thanksgiving - my favorite holiday - I can smell the aroma already - The stuffing being prepared, the turkey cooking in the oven –The pies baking – I can just taste them... For me, it has got to be the best time of the year!

Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

THANKS - All in a Word…
T for time to be together, turkey, talk, and tangy weather.
H for harvest stored away, home, and hearth, and holiday.
A for autumn's frosty art, and abundance in the heart.
N for neighbors, and November, nice things, new things to remember.
K for kitchen, kettles' croon, kith and kin expected soon.
S for sizzles, sights, and sounds, and something special that abounds.
That spells ~~~THANKS---for joy in living and a jolly good
Thanksgiving!

Quilt for Sonia

Hello Friends,

I haven’t been feeling very well this past week, so I am a little behind on my post…  Feel better now and want to share the progress I made on the quilt I have been quilting for Sonia…

  Piecing it together

  Laying it out

Quilting it on the longarm…

  Added memories…

  Added Label -
Now, I just need to bind it and it will
be all done!  :-)
Yay

Block of the Month -

Hello Friends,
Here we are almost done with this year’s BOM class – This was my first BOM class (but not my last) - taught by Sandy at Close to Home - this one is the Mojito Sampler.  It's a typical modern quilt, the blocks have fewer pieces making it ideal for beginner quilters.  It's also a nice way to learn the basic quilting techniques. Sandy teaches you the different rulers and cutting tricks, making it fun and easy to do.

I can see a difference in my first few blocks, when I started...

Here they are:

This one below is block 10

Farewell to Sandy

Hello Friends,

What a busy week this week for us quilter girls…  Our longarm handi-quilter teacher is moving to Florida - she will be "sew" missed.  We decided to throw her a farewell party and make her a nice little gift.  We all got together and made this beautiful shadow box…  I have to say “we did an amazing job”! Lori did an awesome job on the quilt – I just love it!!   It’s adorable!!!

This is the back, where we all signed it!
